Addie Harper was the fiddler with the Wick Scottish Dance band for many years but formed his own band in 1978. This band was led by Addie on Fiddle, Banjo and Hawaiian Guitar with his son Addie Jn on Accordion.

The first three albums were produced by Bryce Laing and recorded by Craighall Studios in Edinburgh. The last two were produced by Bill Garden and recorded at Country House Studios in Strathaven.
In 1986 Addie set up his own recording company, Harp Records and all subsequent albums were released on that label.
